I have had the chronic pain in my arm and sometimes in my shoulder for over a month. I had a cortisone injection 6 days ago, I have tried the sports supports and Painkilling gel, nothing works!
I am taking anti inflammorty tablets and co-codamol (30mg codeine) plus sleeping tablets to sleep through the pain at night, all prescribed by my GP, also I have heat pad and have tried a frozen pack on the area. Ps I dont play tennis!
Lateral epicondylitis (tennis elbow) is often an injury associated with repetitive motions (whether at work, play or recreation). This is often the result of a repetitive action, that over time wears down the tissues that suddenly give in what would normally be a common action. As a side note, I'm curious if you were you actually diagnosed with this. I only ask because elbow pain of this sort can arise from a number of other conditions such as; joint instability, muscle weakness, elbow arthritis or radial tunnel syndrome. Each of those requires a different sort of treatment.
